LOCATION: long ride from Cairo to Sinai but hotel is very near Mt. Sinai, Saint Catherine's Monastery, The Burning Bush.

FEEL: very dry, tropical feel with large cross pool and villas

the villas

PERSONAL: I was with a group of tourists and it was the second hotel we stayed at from a number of hotels in the Holy land tour.

THE ROOMS: are basic. with twin beds, no carpet, a balcony overlooking the pool and opens up to it. The lighting in the room could use some help since it could get pretty dim since light bulbs are sparse. The lamps were of no help. No special treatments on the bedding, just basic one pillow and blanket. It could get cold in Sinai at night. No TV sets in the room, with dresser and one mirror.

My room was on the ground floor with a balcony

THE BATHROOM: is spacious, without a tub. But, lighting is a problem. My shower area is dim since there was no light in the area. the hot water could take a while, and bring your own toiletries. The toiletries provided by the hotel is meager and disappointing. The Bathroom can use some renovation since it is showing signs of wear and tear.

THE FOOD: tried the breakfast buffet and the dinner buffet. The breakfast buffet is a treat with a variety of breads and cheeses and omelets made to order. Doughnuts, hummus and pickled veggies are also present. Dinner buffet at Sinai is middle eastern fare. with pita bread, fish, and the staples- pickled veggies, hummus and salads.

great food, service not so great

arriving at 11PM from Cairo. we were so hungry!

THE SERVICE: it would've been a great treat to eat at the dining hall if it weren't for the bad service. We all felt "rushed" by the waiters and bus boys who clear the table even though you haven't finished and would make no apologies for the mistake. Almost got mad at a waiter when he didn't allow us to sit near the breakfast buffet table and placed us too far from it even though there were empty tables around.

OTHER AMENITIES: shops open for shopping 24/7, a tent near the reception for a shisha bar/shop, and a pool.

24/7 shopping
